MINNESOTA WINTER

                                          Knitwear

What a cozy knit Poncho. I would wear this with thick black leggings and boots, a great outfit for more than once a week.

This hand-knit neck-scarf is wonderful for not just the outdoors, it's also adorable with just a tee shirt and jeans. Found at anthropologie

These mittens may look a little unusual to most, but in Norway they are everywhere. I have had a few pairs since I was young,  given to me by my grandparents. They are over 8 years old now and I still love them.

There are always so many different styles and patterns to knits. Take this rustic shoulder shawl, it has a lovely vintage feel.

I just love long sweater cardigans. Every woman should own at least one. This one here is by Maison Martin-Margiela and is made from bamboo and organic cotton.

Knitwear line, House of Dagmar, based in Stockholm, works with three sisters, and their love of fashion, in creating a feminine and chic collection.

A design by the three sisters.

Chic Knit skirt by Graham and Spencer.

And of course the Sweater Dress,  always comfy and chic.

THE LITTLE THINGS

Necklaces are a lovely addition to any outfit, here are a few unique styles that I adore.

Much like a charm bracelet, you can add your own medallions onto a chain necklace for this same bohemian look.

A pocket watch necklace, truly a chic find. I found this online at Urban Outfitters, but do check your local antique store for an old fashioned watch of your own.

Traditional hand embroidery and contemporary styling. these smocked necklaces are by Etsy-seller Tinctory

Crafty entangled button necklace, charming for the holidays and a wonderful necklace for any age. Found at Anthropologie

Delightfully modern, these nervous system designs are witty and adorable. What a great idea. Nervous.com

GENUINE LEATHER

What Great Leather Finds. These three items are personal favorites of mine. The low heel Riding Boots, the Saddle Bag, and the Oxford shoe, all wonderful items to add to your wardrobe.

Perfect with  jeans or my favorite, black leggings.  I found these on Zappos, also check Urban Outfitters for other unique styles.

I love this western style saddle bag, petite and detailed, what a cool new look.

Wear them with tights or pants, the Oxford shoe is all over this Fall/Winter. Way too adorable to pass up.

SEEING SPOTS

On the wild side, try animal prints with your outfit this fall. Stay with neutral solid tones so there is no distraction from the Prints.

FEATHERS AND THINGS...

What a great fall print, if you love this and can't find anything similar, I would most definitely hit the fabric store and make a great scarf of your own.

here are some ideas for feather trims...

WHEN STRIPES ARE CROSSED

         PLAID

If you don't have at least one plaid item in your closet, stock up, they are everywhere this season.

My personal favorite is the plaid cape, like this one by Ralph Lauren. Much like a blanket wrapped over your shoulder, it's cozy and sophisticated, great for almost anywhere.

AT THE VERY TOP

When your outfit isn't going well,
top it off with a hat.

The hat that shaped the bob hairstyle.

Cloche hat: is a bell shaped hat that became popular in the 1920's. {Cloche is the french word for bell} The cloche hat is usually made of felt so that it conforms to the head. It is designed to be worn low over the forehead. You can also add broaches and ribbons to make it your own.
